the co-mo's

I couldn't imagine my wedding without my two sisters standing by my side so have chosen them both to be MOHs.
Picture

dana tomonari (deeters)

Picture
Dana is my big sister and is a teacher in Makaha, O'ahu.  She has always been the one leading the way for the three of us and is, and always will be, the smartest person that I know.  She is my biggest cheerleader and has done more than she probably knows to help me be confident in myself and grow into the person that I am today.  I love her so much and am so happy that she has also found love (she's engaged!).  I can't wait to have her by my side all the way up to the wedding day.

lori tomonari (elleface)

Picture
Lori is my little sister by 18 months, exactly!  When we were growing up, we looked so alike that people sometimes thought we were twins.  And to this day, we sometimes act like it - we fight the hardest, but love each other unconditionally.  Lori is the kindest person with the purest heart that I know and she makes me a better person.  She is living a glamorous life in Paris, France and although I think it's pretty cool, am secretly hoping that she moves back home when I do because I can't stand to be so far apart.  I miss her so much!

the bridesmaids

krislyn hashimoto (KPP)

Picture
Krislyn and I have been friends since Miss Affleck's class in the 4th grade.  We have literally grown up together and have been through the best and worst of times.  We have come out on the other side, older and wiser and with a true and rock solid friendship that will last forever.  KPP is my partner in crime, someone that I can always turn to, and I cannot imagine a day without her in my life.  I am so blessed to call her my friend, and am honored to have her standing next to me on my big day.

brianna chown (brichild)

Picture
I first met Brianna almost 7 years ago at BBDO when she interviewed for a position on my team.  There was something about her that I couldn't put my finger on (maybe it was the navy blue skirt suit and low bun, ha!) but it made me hire her.  I am so glad that I did because she wasn't only an awesome teammate, she became a life long friend.  She's been by my and Ryan's side from the very beginning, helping us through any obstacles and always supporting us.  We love her with all our hearts and I am so very happy to have her in my wedding party.

The best man

ethan field

Picture

What can I say, Ethan is the best brother one could ask for.  Affectionate nicknames such as “Ribber” abound, which was credited to me for my uncanny ability (and apparent desire) to suck in my stomach and fully expose my ribs during childhood. Ethan is two years my elder, so I took the brunt of a little bit of abuse growing up, though I have to say not too much... just enough really. After Ethan graduated from Bucknell, we moved in together for my last couple of years at Northeastern; I still look upon those days very fondly - it was a great time for us, getting to know each other better as “adults” (sort of).  Ethan recently got engaged to his lovely fiance Meghan, and Sara and I are both so happy for the two of them - we look forward to creating many memories together!

the groomsmen

andrew bradford

Picture
If I could have found a picture of Bradford riding his red Giant brand mountain bike down Norfolk St in Bangor, Maine with a Tri City Pizza in his hand I would most definitely have used it here.  Andrew and I go back to the days of Winnie the Pooh preschool, and were neighborhood friends all throughout school. If you wanted to sled down the “dare devil” path on Posey’s hill in Bangor, you had to be in Bradford’s good graces as it was on his family’s property.  It was during college in Boston (at different schools) when Andrew and I really cemented our friendship.  He was a regular at many Northeastern themed events, and I couldn’t imagine my Boston years without him.  These days, a trip home to Maine is not complete without spending some time with Andrew - and it is always a blast getting out on his jetski which is naturally "the fastest one you can buy Field".  I am still trying to get him to move from Maine to California... stay tuned!

christopher slack

Picture
Where do I start with Chris?  So many amazingly good times; memories and stories galore - truly a defining friendship in my life.  Chris is from Maine as well, a town called Southwest Harbor, which is one of the ports used to get to Islesford (see the Maine Event page). I first met Chris at Northeastern’s orientation. Northeastern is a big school, and they have perhaps 5 orientation weekends the summer before you commence.  Chris and I just happened to be in the same one...  Prior to that weekend, a friend’s mom on Islesford told me to look out for Chris, “I think you guys would get along”.  Lo and behold, when they said “now turn and introduce yourself to the person next to you” during the first session, he was there.  He said he was from Southwest Harbor, and I said “Oh, you are Chris Slack”.  I think that weirded him out a bit.   At any rate, we ended up becoming best of friends in college, and Chris has introduced me to so many people who are still among my closest friends.

daniel leineweber

Picture
Dan Leineweber - the best friend a dinner party could meet.  Master Chef. Organizer of many social events, introducer of plenty.  Dan hails from Evanston, Illinois.  I met Dan in Northeastern’s book shop prior to our very first semester at Northeastern.  I was buying some books, and Dan noted that we were both buying the same books and struck up a conversation.  I am glad he did.  Dan was instrumental in my moving to San Francisco, and is pretty much responsible for me meeting Sara - he invited me to the party when I first met her.  Had I not met Dan, at least one of the following things would not have happened:  Me moving to California OR me meeting Sara; pretty much everything else that is great in my life flows from those two crucial events.  I am pretty happy now, so thanks for starting that conversation Dan.  Dan and I lived together for a couple of years in the legendary “17 Hillside" apartment in Boston, as did Chris (and about 20 other people while our crew occupied it for about 3 years).

william reisman

Picture
Will Reisman, the legendary Will Reisman.  Races public transit on foot and sometimes wins, wears T shirt sleeves on his head, executes lucrative stock trades over his patent pending shoe phone™, crossword puzzle extraordinaire. Will is also from Maine, near Islesford, a town called Bar Harbor.  He plays a mean air keyboard.  Will and I became great friends while I spent a winter after college in Burlington, Vermont (amazing times!) and I would like to think that I was partially responsible for his moving to San Francisco a short time later. I had the distinct pleasure of living in Will’s hall closet on Nob Hill in SF for about 2 years - those were some pretty epic times.  When chatting with Will at the wedding, I highly recommend testing his knowledge as relates to the capitals of obscure countries you have never heard of.

the ring bearer

pono ka'akua

Picture
Pono is our friends Laura and Josh's son.  He was the first baby of our group and both Ryan and I love him with all of our hearts.  You all will fall in love with him too.  We are so excited to have him carry our rings down the aisle!  And yup, he's holding an octopus in that photo!

the flower girls

emma green

Picture
Emma is our beautiful niece.  I can't believe how big she's gotten since we both have last seen her.  She is such a gorgeous, spunky and special girl.  We are very lucky to have her as one of our flower girls and she is going to shine as she walks down the aisle.

maddox krause

Picture
Maddie is the daughter of our good friends Natalie and Adam Krause.  She is so adorable, with the most amazing and loveable personality.  She's going to charm everyone when she walks down the aisle!
